Privacy Policy for OpenThrottle
Effective Date: February 14, 2026 Welcome to OpenThrottle. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how Woodside Interactive, LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
To provide our Ride Tracking, Clubs, and Community features, we collect the following:
Account Data: When you sign up via Firebase Authentication, we collect your email address and name.
Profile Data: Information you provide about yourself and your bike, including model, type, year, and mileage. This may include an optional profile photo or bike photo.
Ride Data: When you record a ride, we collect and store GPS route data, distance, duration, speed, and other ride statistics associated with your account.
Precise Location Data: While you have an active ride recording in progress, we collect your device's GPS location at regular intervals to track your route. We also use location data to help you discover nearby clubs and riders when you use those features.
Photos & Media: If you upload a profile photo, bike photo, or attach images to a ride, those images are stored in Firebase Storage.
Usage & Diagnostic Data: We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to collect anonymized usage statistics and crash reports that help us improve the app. This includes information about how features are used, app performance, and errors encountered.
Purchase Data: If you subscribe to a paid tier, we receive a record of your purchase (transaction ID, subscription status, and renewal date) from Apple, Google, and our subscription management provider, RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your credit card or payment account details.
Device Information: We may collect technical data such as your IP address, device model, operating system, and app version.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the data collected to: Create and manage your user and club profiles. Record, store, and display your rides. Facilitate real-time map features so you can track rides and find nearby clubs. Authenticate your login sessions via Firebase. Process and manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. Diagnose crashes, monitor performance, and improve the app. Communicate with you regarding app updates, important account notices, or support requests.
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. However, your data is shared in the following ways:
Public Visibility: Your public profile (name, bike info) and rides you choose to share are visible to other OpenThrottle users. You control what is shared through your privacy settings in the app.
Third-Party Service Providers: We use the following providers to operate the app:
Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Analytics, Crashlytics) — governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Mapbox (mapping, routing, and map tile services) — governed by the Mapbox Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat (subscription management) — governed by the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
Apple and Google for payment processing when you make a purchase through their app stores.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.
4. App Tracking Transparency (iOS)
OpenThrottle does not track you across other companies' apps and websites for advertising purposes. We will only request App Tracking Transparency permission if this changes in the future.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will permanently delete your account and associated data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records for legal, tax, or security purposes (for example, transaction records). Anonymized analytics data may be retained for longer to support product improvement.
6. Your Choices & Controls
You have control over how your information is shared:
Location Permissions: You can enable or disable location services at any time through your mobile device settings. Note that ride tracking and nearby-club features will not function without this permission.
Profile Visibility: You can edit your profile details and adjust what is publicly visible within the app at any time.
